This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is not afraid to think differently. Gone are the days of traditional approaches, we know this because Hammersmith & Fulham is a leading light on co-production with residents and is better for it.

We want our co-produced Vision for Independent Living to drive everything we do so Independent Living becomes a reality for residents. This means the focus of our work must be about promoting rights, equality and inclusion. Independent Living comes from Disabled people’s ideas and thinking. It is about having full access to all the things we need to live a good life such as jobs, family and friends, housing, leisure, access to transport and enough money. It is also about having the right health services and personal support. That’s why we use The Social Model of Disability which is about removing the barriers and discrimination that Disabled people face so we can all be included.

Co-production is the way we work together with residents to improve things and make change happen.

Our approach to commissioning and partnerships must be built on these foundations. It will mean building local capacity, investing in resident-led organisations, creating the conditions for genuine self-directed support, innovation and local services to promote Independent Living. We need to facilitate the best use of resources recognising the fantastic and diverse community capacity here in Hammersmith & Fulham as seen in its vital response to the pandemic.

If you want to join a team that never stands still, is passionate about reducing health inequalities, and improving outcome for residents, this is an opportunity for you.

You will be innovative, and a strong leader. With an understanding of what excellence looks like and the commitment to genuinely shape the future with residents, you will have a proven track record in building and maintaining effective partnerships. An ability to work at pace, dynamic thinking and strong resilience is needed to support us into the next part of our Journey.

In return you will be joining a strong passionate leadership team, known and respected for its delivery. Working with colleagues across, health, Economy, housing and leisure are just some of the key partnerships that we have. This is your opportunity to further enhance the lives of the residents of Hammersmith & Fulham.
